Overview
After the success of previous editions, the Fundação Champalimaud continues to consider this an important course, maintaining collaboration with FMCB at UALG. The training of researchers who are knowledgeable on medical nomenclature and capable of discussing the basic aspects of Medicine is crucial for the development of Translational Medicine, which is why the Fundação Champalimaud continues to consider important making this type of training available to a selected number of researchers.

Objectives

  • Mastery of the medical lexicon and acquisition of knowledge about basic areas of Medicine, such as: anatomy, physiology, histology, pharmacology, and medical pathology, among others.

Operating Mode

Teaching will be in the Problem-Based Learning format, using clinical cases, with one clinical case being dealt with every fortnight. Assessment is carried out in person using 4 multiple-choice tests (MCQ type) on the topics covered in the PBL.

The course lasts a total of 10 months, conferring a total of 14 ECTS.

Tuition and Fees 2026/2027

National Students: 300 Euros

International Students*:  300 Euros

Application Fee: 10 Euros

Registration Fee and School Insurance: 10 Euros

Note: The tuition of this course can be paid in 10 installments, being the first at the time of registration and the remaining in the months of October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May and June.

* in accordance with Decree-Law No. 36/2014, changed by Decree-Law No.62/2018, of 6th August, international students are nationals of a country which is not a Member State of the European Union and are not a legally resident in Portugal for more than 2 uninterrupted years by 1st of January of the enrolment year
